Getting Started
My daughter has never played volleyball. Where should she begin?
Our Integrity Academy is the perfect place to start! Academy is designed specifically for beginners from Kindergarten through 9th Grade. Players are grouped by grade level and learn the fundamentals of volleyball in a fun, encouraging environment.
- Academy Tots: Kindergarten–3rd Grade
- Academy: 4th–6th Grade
- Academy Plus: 7th–9th Grade
No experience is required.
Do you offer a recreational league?
No. Integrity Volleyball Club does not offer a recreational league.
We offer beginner instructional programs (Academy) and competitive club volleyball programs for girls who are ready to advance their skills.
My daughter is ready to join a team. How does that work?
Players join teams by attending tryouts.
Throughout the year we offer:

- Club Tryouts
- Limited Club Tryouts
Tryout Clinics allow athletes to work with Integrity coaches before official tryouts and help coaches get to know each player.
What should my athlete bring?
For Academy, Clinics, and Tryouts:
- Athletic clothing
- Volleyball shoes (or athletic shoes if new to the sport)
- Knee pads
- Water bottle
- Positive attitude
Volleyballs are provided.
Understanding Club Volleyball
What is Club Volleyball?
Club volleyball is a competitive training program that takes place outside of school volleyball.
Players receive professional coaching, attend regular practices, compete in tournaments, and continue developing their skills throughout the season.
Club volleyball provides significantly more training opportunities than school volleyball alone.
What is the difference between Limited Club, Club, and Intense?
Limited Club
Perfect for athletes wanting competitive volleyball while balancing other activities.

Club
Designed for athletes committed to competitive volleyball and continued skill development.

What happens if my athlete misses practice?
Attendance is extremely important.
Please notify your coach as soon as possible regarding any absence.
Missing practices may affect:
- Playing time
- Skill development
- Tournament eligibility
Repeated absences may result in dismissal from the team.
Can athletes play other sports?
Yes.
Many Integrity athletes participate in multiple sports. We simply ask families to communicate early with coaches and avoid any scheduling conflicts.
What should players bring to practice?
- IVBC Practice Shirt
- Spandex or leggings
- Volleyball shoes
- Knee pads
- Water bottle

- Arm sleeves

Tournament Information
How many tournaments will my team play?
Tournament schedules vary depending on the team level and age division.
Your complete schedule will be available in the OTTO Sport app.
How long do tournaments last?
Tournament days can range from a few hours to an entire day.
Many tournaments have:
- Morning Wave: approximately 7:00 AM–2:00 PM
- Afternoon Wave: approximately 2:00 PM–8:00 PM
Players should arrive approximately one hour before their first match.
Are parents required to stay?
Parents are not required to remain at tournaments, but we encourage families to be there and stay nearby and support the team while modeling Integrity's values of sportsmanship and respect.
What should players bring to tournaments?
Required:
- Uniform (all jerseys)
- Volleyball shoes
- Knee pads
- Water bottle
Recommended:
- Snacks
- Recovery supplies
- Extra socks
What are Work Team (Ref) Duties?
Teams may be assigned officiating responsibilities, including:
- Line Judge
- Scorekeeper
- Libero Tracker
- Down Referee
Training is provided before athletes are expected to perform these duties.
Where can I find tournament information?
Tournament locations, parking, admissions, and facility information are available through VSTAR Volleyball.
Tournament results are also posted there after each event.
Financial Information
Are payment plans available?
Yes.
Families may choose from:
- Pay in Full Online
- 9-Month Payment Plan
- Pay in Full Offline (Cash or Check)
A deposit is due on Signing Day and varies by team.
What isn't included in club dues?
Additional expenses may include:
- USAV Membership
- Tournament travel
- Hotels
- Meals
- Facility admission
- Team pictures
- Scorekeeping clinics
- Optional private lessons

- Nationals expenses (if applicable)
Are fundraising opportunities available?
Yes!
Integrity offers several fundraising opportunities throughout the season.
Families may earn credits toward:

Can I reduce my club costs?
Yes.
Integrity offers paid work opportunities throughout the season, including:
- Store Attendant
- Tournament Staff
- Front Gate
- Player Area
- Maintenance

Workers earn $10/hour, and earnings can be applied toward club expenses.
Can businesses sponsor my athlete?
Absolutely.
Business sponsors receive recognition through our website, newsletters, and club marketing while helping offset an athlete's season expenses.
Communication
How will I receive club information?
Integrity uses OTTO Sport as our official communication platform.
Families will receive:
- Practice schedules
- Tournament schedules
- Team communication
- Club announcements
- Calendar updates
What's the best way to communicate with coaches?
Parents should communicate respectfully through OTTO Sport.
Whenever possible, athletes are encouraged to speak directly with their coach first regarding playing time or volleyball-related concerns.
If additional discussion is needed, parents may schedule a meeting with the coach and, if necessary, with a Club Director.
What is the 24-Hour Rule?
We ask families to wait 24 hours after a tournament before discussing concerns regarding playing time, coaching decisions, or competition.
This allows everyone time to reflect before having productive conversations.
Player Development
How are positions determined?
Coaches evaluate:

Team balance is an important factor when assigning positions.
Can players learn multiple positions?
Yes.
Many athletes train at multiple positions to become more versatile and improve their overall volleyball IQ.

Volleyball Terms Every New Parent Should Know
Learning the language of volleyball makes watching matches even more enjoyable. Here are a few common terms you'll hear:

| Libero | A defensive specialist who wears a different-colored jersey and plays only in the back row. |
| DS (Defensive Specialist) | A back-row player focused on passing and defense who does not have libero privileges. |
| Setter | The player who runs the offense by setting the ball to hitters. |
| Rotation | The clockwise movement of players after winning the serve from the opposing team. |
| Serve Receive | The formation and strategy used to pass the opponent's serve. |
| Transition | Moving quickly from defense to offense after your team gains possession of the ball. |
| Out of System | When a team cannot run its normal offense because the first pass is off target. |
