Ryan Bailey Juvenile Diabetes Awareness Tournament - November 16th

Integrity has had an inter club tournament the last few years. The initial reason was to give our younger girls that have never played in a tournament, a chance to see what a tournament is like.

This  year we have decided to combine this tournament with a fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes in honor of one of our players, Ryan Bailey.  We will have a bake sale and be accepting donations to contribute towards this cause. Her team will be participating in the JDRF walk in Fort Worth that day.

If you would like to donate directly to Ryan's team, please click on the link and follow the instructions.   RYAN'S TEAM INFO

What an incredible brave and determined young lady is Ryan! We are so proud of her!!

Here is Ryan's story as told by her mother...

Putting an End to Type 1 Diabetes, One Step at a Time

Our family was introduced to our "new normal" on March 29, 2011, that is the day that our 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.  We went to the pediatrician because Ryan had lost a lot of weight and was thirsty all the time.  She ended up at Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth for three days and was really, really sick and really, really scared.  This disease affects the entire family 24 hours, there are no breaks or days off.  Her pancreas does not work; it does not produce insulin.  We have to check her blood sugar with finger pricks at least 6 times a day/night and give her insulin shots every time she eats.  She is insulin dependent for the rest of her life.  Ryan is now on an insulin pump and a continuous glucose monitor which are attached to her body.  These devices make controlling the disease more manageable, but they are not a cure.  Insulin is not a cure!  It is a treatment that keeps her alive while we hope for a cure.

There is currently no cure, we just manage the disease as best we can.  Research is the pathway to the cure and we need your help.  We were introduced to the JDRF Walk for the Cure on the third day of our stay at Cook Children's Hospital and have participated every year since diagnosis.  We would love for you to walk with us on November 16th, 2019 in person or pledge your support via a donation of any amount.  Thank you so much for the love and support you have shown our family!
